The University of Mississippi School of Law has never been stronger. Its students have better entering credentials than ever before; its faculty are known as outstanding classroom teachers and nationally recognized scholars. It has attracted funding to establish two new additions to the Law Center—the National Center for Justice and the Rule of Law and the National Center for Remote Sensing, Air and Space Law. And it has created a wide range of opportunities for its students to supplement classroom learning with hands-on legal experience in clinics and externships. It is no surprise, then, that the School of Law has moved in recent years into the upper echelons of law school rankings conducted by U.S. News & World Report.

Law school isn’t really so different today than when you graduated. There are still the same late nights studying, the same endless arguments with friends, the same panic before exams. But a law school can’t stay strong by standing still. It has to improve, or inevitably decline. The School of Law is continually striving to improve the quality of the education it provides its students and the services it provides the state of Mississippi. This is a vision fitting for a great law school situated in a great public university. That is why I hope you will consider supporting the law school campaign.
