No Institution Stays Great By Standing Still …

The School of Law at the University of Mississippi has never been stronger:

  • Its students have better entering credentials than ever before.
  • Its faculty are known as outstanding classroom teachers and nationally recognized scholars.
  • It has attracted funding to establish two new additions to the Law Center—the National Center for Justice and the Rule of Law and the National Center for Remote Sensing Air and Space Law.
  • It has created a wide range of opportunities for its students to supplement classroom learning with hands-on experience.

It is no surprise that the School of Law has moved in recent years into the upper echelons of law school rankings conducted by U.S. News & World Report. But no institution stays great by standing still.

The School of Law, in particular, aspires to more than its current station in national rankings and to even greater improvements in the quality of education it provides its students and the services it provides to the state of Mississippi.

As the state’s only public law school, The University of Mississippi School of Law is not content simply to enjoy the present dividends of a reputation based on past achievements. Understanding that pressing forward will require new financial resources, the School of Law has embarked on a campaign to raise $60 million to be used for a new facility, scholarship endowments, faculty support, clinics,
and law library.
